GOLF PERFORMANCE
Utilizing the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Assessment and Treatments
TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) is “the worlds leading educational organization dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing.”
As a TPI certified therapist we will identify physical limitations that can inhibit swing efficiency and durability. Using a 16 part physical screen we will identify key areas that are holding you back and develop a personalized plan consisting of corrective exercises and drills. These exercises will help you play golf pain free, lower your handicap, and extend your years playing the game you love.
Dry Needling
Relieve Muscle Pain and Move Better with Dry Needling
If you’re dealing with muscle tightness, chronic pain, or stubborn trigger points, dry needling may help you find relief quickly.
Dry needling is an advanced treatment used by physical therapists to release tight muscles, reduce pain, and restore movement. By inserting a thin, sterile needle into areas of muscle tension called trigger points, the muscle can relax and reset, allowing your body to heal more efficiently.
Many patients experience improved mobility and reduced pain after just one session.
At our clinic, dry needling is often combined with personalized physical therapy and targeted exercises to provide long-lasting results.
What Conditions Can Dry Needling Treat?
Dry needling is commonly used to treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including:
• Neck pain and tension headaches, back pain and muscle spasms, shoulder pain and rotator cuff injuries, hip and glute tightness, sciatica, tennis and golfer’s elbow, plantar fasciitis, sports injuries and overuse injuries, and chronic muscle tightness and trigger points.
If you’ve tried stretching, massage, or other treatments without lasting relcief, dry needling may help address the underlying muscle dysfunction.

FAQ

Seeing a cash-based therapist like myself allows me to decide what the best treatment is for you without being dictated by insurance (who has no medical background). It can actually save you more money in the long run, as you will usually need fewer visits and recover more quickly. Not only that but if you haven’t met your deductible you may be slapped with a huge surprise bill at the end of care.
Most therapists at corporate physical therapy clinics are seeing 2-3 patients at once and have you being passed off to an aide. Insurance may also limit the number of visits you have, or the kind of treatment you can get. My mission is to give you complete one-on-one care so I can fully understand your injury and your needs and get to the root cause of your problem.
Here are some key differences between private pay and insurance based PT:
Private Pay
-Cost transparency, upfront pricing, no hidden fees.
-Seen 1x/week in comfort of home with ample time to work on your plan of care.
-Access to therapist 24/7; more attention means you get better faster.
-1:1 quality care every visit.
-Individualized treatment programs tailored to specific goals.
-Ability to treat the whole body.
-Can work on health, wellness, fitness, prehab, and maintenance.
-Support small businesses and local economy.
Insurance Based
-Expensive copays. Large bills at end of care if haven’t met deductible. Unknown out of pocket cost.
-Must go into a clinic 2-3x per week. Keep you coming back to make more money.
-Therapists see 2-3 people at once, limited 1:1 time.
-Generic exercises and passive modalities that are ineffective.
-Can only treat one body part/medical diagnosis at a time.
-Insurance dictates what you can and can’t do.
-Support large corporations.

No! In Connecticut, physical therapists have direct access meaning that you can come right to us before you see anyone else. You do not need a prescription from a medical doctor. We are doctors and experts in orthopedic conditions. With our training we are able to rule out red flags and determine if your condition is something more serious that may require other medical attention. We are well trained in referring to other healthcare providers.

YES! As always, it depends on your exact condition and I would need to evaluate you first to truly determine this, but the answer is often yes. What many people don’t realize is that your body is strong, resilient, and incredibly adaptable. Physical therapy can help people in pain without opioids, surgeries, injections, and/or other invasive procedures. And contrary to popular belief, most chronic musculoskeletal conditions can be PREVENTED.
